A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Blaire Pancake is a graduate of Bright School and The Baylor School. She is a Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a B.S. Degree in Anthropology with a concentration in Archaeology. She has as a real estate license.

Blaire is the official spokesperson for the Governor’s Safe and Drug Free Tennessee Program. She is also the official spokesperson for Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee. She created a Tennessee Child Abuse Resource website www.keeptnkidssafe.com.

Mike McLemore

Mike McLemore has been calling ducks since he was a young boy. He credits his calling finesse to listening - to the ducks and geese, and to other callers.

Mike won the Tennessee State Competition twice. From there, he captured the title "World Champion" in Stuttgart, Arkansas in 1973, 1974, and 1977. In 1980 Mike won over seven other former World Champions to highlight his duck calling career with the coveted "Champion of Champions" title. Mike's love of the sport and competition calling has not dulled. The first turning leaves and chill in the air bring a gleam to his eye, for that means the season for waterfowler's glory is not far away. While those mallards are fluffing out their feathers and forming flocks to fly south, you will find Mike tuning up for calling demonstrations at Ducks Unlimited dinners and judging calling contests.

True to form of most title winners, Mike has designed the call that he feels will fill his demands. Using his call, he won the World Championship in 1977, and the 1980 Champion of Champions. Now Mike McLemore Game Calls are in demand from waterfowlers all over the country. Mike believes a hunter must have a good call to be proficient, whether on a contest stage, or in the duck blind.

Over the years, Mike has endorsed many different products used in waterfowl hunting, turkey hunting, fishing, and related sports. His endorsements are based on first hand knowledge and use of each product. Mike lives in Huntington, TN, with his wife Anita. He continues to hunt and fish for pleasure and as part of his job making game calls. He travels across the country doing sports shows, performing master of ceremonies duties at various calling contests, doing dinner speaking engagements, and conducting calling clinics.

The SKYWARN SPOTTER TRAINING PROGRAM will be offered on-site of the West Tennessee Boat, Sport and Travel Show on Saturday, February 17 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. The two-hour-long class features slides, videos, and a video quiz. The class is free to the public (just sign in at the front gate) and there are no prerequisites for the course. Class materials are provided.

SKYWARN is part of the National Weather Service's warning program designed to establish a network of volunteers trained in the detection and reporting of life-threatening storms. Although advances in computers and communication networks have made great strides over the past several years, only one instrument can detect tornadoes with complete certainty - the human eye. We rely heavily on the reports that we receive from our 1300 pairs of our spotters eyes!

By taking the SKYWARN spotter course you will learn about the meteorological dynamics involved in thunderstorm development, and ingredients necessary to make a thunderstorm severe or tornadic. You will also learn what features to look for when viewing thunder - storms. The reports that we receive from our spotters may help us to save the lives of your neighbors, family members, and even complete strangers in the next town.

This year's presentation will again feature an UPDATED multimedia presentation. You will see awesome photography and exciting video. The class usually lasts about an hour and a half. Due to the fast pace of technology and the new understanding of thunderstorms, we ask that you try to attend a SKYWARN class annually. The ID number you will be given will only be valid for four years. The classes are FREE and open to everyone interested.
